Journey’s BBQ Dallas

The first stop of the 08′ Journeys BBQ was last weekend in Dallas, Texas. It was a bit windy but Garland, Ebanol, and Hagy still rode. Ryan Sheckler was there to skate but decided to hang with the MM the entire time. Our reps, Tejya and Steve spent the day manning the tent and the “Wheel of Misfortune.” Kids sure do like free stuff. Check back as we will have updates from all the stops. Next stop- Denver. See you there.

Asian X-Games

Last week Jimmy Fitzpatrick ,Justin Homan and Ryan Hagy were in Shanghai China competing in the Asian X-Games. The event was a little scary as they siphoned gas out of a taxi for them to put into their bikes. The bikes are used to 110 octane, and the gas from the taxi was around 78 octane, so things were a little sketchy. It was a bit windy the entire time, but that did not stop them from doing their job. Like all tourists, the guys found it hard to get used to the food but once they found a McDonalds and a Pizza Hut down the street, they were set.

The FMX part was only a demo as they did not have enough dirt to make a full course, so the competitive blood didn’t flow through their bodies until the last day. STEP UP time, yes step up was the only competition. Step Up over there was a little bit different than the states. The take off was around 8ft and normally it’s around 12ft, but we made it work. Justin Homan brought back his OG status and took the GOLD while Ryan Hagy took SILVER. Sorry there are not to many riding shots. Our only source decided to spend most of his time riding.

Jason “Mayhem” Miller defeats Katsuyori Shiba

SAITAMA, Japan — Nearly 22,000 fans showed up at the Saitama Super Arena to see Jason “Mayhem” Miller in action for the first time in Asia. To fill the last spot of the middleweight grand prix, self-proclaimed Monkey King, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, dispatched of Masakatsu Funaki pupil Katsuyori Shibata. Like Funaki’s last outing, it wasn’t a good showing for Shibata. Miller quickly took the initiative with strikes from the outside and in the clinch, which forced Shibata to pull guard for a guillotine. On
the ground, Miller outclassed his opponent by moving into back mount and delivering strikes until the referee stopped the bout 6:57 into the first.

It was an impressive debut in Japan for Miller, and if his romancing of a ring girl after the fight is any indication, he could have a bright future in Japan and Dream. You can check out the fight here!
