6.30.09 XFIGHTERS FORT WORTH, TX

Jeff Kargola Red Bull XFighters Texas

Levi Sherwood and Jeff Kargola were invited to compete in the Red Bull XFighters Fort Worth, TX round. Levi shocked the world at the first stop of the series, by coming into the event virtually unknown and beating the best riders in the world. Unfortunately, Levi was unable to compete due to a knee injury. Levi’s dad reported to Freerider Magazine saying, “The doctors have said there’s a bit of bone floating around underneath his knee-cap, and if he doesn’t get it addressed it’ll keep getting worse. At this stage it looks like he’ll be out for four weeks but is hopeful to be back in time for the Madrid round of the X-Fighters.” Look for Levi to be back on top soon!

Jeff “Ox” Kargola gave it his all in record high temperatures. The course was not to be taken lightly, as multiple riders suffered practice mishaps, including Ox. He over jumped a dirt table top to flat, injuring his hand. It appeared to be broken, but Ox wouldn’t let this hold him back from competing in his first XFighters competition. Event medics wrapped his hand enough for Ox to hold onto the bars. Ox gave it his all in the first-round qualifying, but the injured hand didn’t allow him to ride at 100%. Had he been, there is no doubt Ox would have advanced to the next round.

6.29.09 CHICAGO DEW TOUR RECAP AND PHOTOS

Kevin Kiraly Barspin

The first stop of the 2009 Dew Tour took place this past weekend in Chicago and Osiris riders Kevin Kiraly, Dane Searls, Darryl Tocco, Rob Darden, and Marcus Tooker were in attendance.

Kevin Kiraly had some of the most technical moves on the park course including pulling a 180-barspin-to-barspin and a switch-360 off of the biggest wall in the park during his run.

Dane Searls had to ride open qualifying, but made it in the actual contest with no problems. Dane threw down some big moves on the dirt course and sealed his spot in the tour for the rest of the season.

Darryl Tocco was on hand as a filmer for the one-time-only Dew Tour street jam/filming contest. Darryl was teamed up with TwoByFour teammates Randy Brown, Chase Dehart, and Van Homan. Their team finished in third.

After a few slip ups and getting gnarly bruise on his arm, Rob Darden missed the cut for park finals by one spot. However, he still rode the park impressively and is still a contender in the overall points race. Rob made it into dirt finals and had a few standout moves like 720’s mid-set and a 720-barspin. He finished in sixth.

Marcus Tooker was on point all weekend and qualified for park finals in third with moves like 720’s over the box backwards and a double-tailwhip transfer. He held it together in finals as well and even threw a perfect bikeflip into his run. It was the only bikeflip of the entire contest. Marcus landed a spot on the podium and finished in third.
