Christian Hosoi congratulates Wheelz
Wheelz took his premiere visit to the Action Sport Retailer show (ASR) over the weekend to meet some of his new sponsors and rub knuckles with the general populace—even breaking in his new thinking cap at the Grind For Life Hosoi Launch Ramp contest, where many said he stole the show with his ever-so-close back flip attempts over a traditional 3′ jump ramp sitting on top of some sheets of plywood in a carpeted conference room. This impromptu act itself and the undeniable roar of the crowd chanting WHEELZ, WHEELZ, WHEELZ, landed him on the podium for a well deserved cash prize. The second try was oh so close….!!! Third try was not an option as the chair took a hit on the right front peg. (Video below!)
Another highlight was his drop in on the 9′ halfpipe into a hand-on-lip handplant on the adjacent mini.
The magnitude of these two days was intense for the boy… the presence of the Mini-Mega Ramp almost too much for him to bear.
Russell just sent me a few photos of Shuriken, Stu, Corey, John, Ryan, and Truman from the last few months that were never used for anything. Check them out!

Jimmy Fitzpatrick had all the boys over for a riding session after the rain hit Temecula. There wasn’t much ramp riding going on. Instead, everyone was airing out the newly redone dirt jumps. Jeremy Lusk and Fitzpatrick were throwing huge whips, and even a coupe tricks off the 120 footer. It was sick! You might also notice Lusk’s new MSR riding gear. He made the switch from Alpinestars to MSR January 1st.

There are very few people in this world that can take constant abuse and punishment, and still come back for more like Jimmy can. Fitz was practicing double flips into the foam pit on a CRF150 while filming for his possible new MTV show “The Brothers Fitzpatrick.” He pulled off numerous flawless double flips into the pit. It is safe to say that it won’t be long before we see him go for it on dirt!
In typical Fitz fashion, he decided to go for a front flip off the bike just for the hell of it. He told people to clear the safety deck because he was going to throw the bike. When jumping into 8 feet of foam, what could possibly go wrong? As you can see in the sequence, everything that could have gone bad with this jump did. Jimmy pulled the front flip with ease, but did not get enough distance between himself and the bike. To make matters worse, he did a front flip and a half, sending him head first into the foam. The bike landed first and Fitz landed head first on top of the bike. The sound of helmet to metal was horrifyingly loud. Miraculously, Jimmy was able to walk away with only a concussion. This didn’t phase him one bit. When he returned home from the hospital, he hopped on a mini bike and attempted to ride through a wall in his house for the TV show. SICK!!!
