11.6.08 DARRYL TOCCO RETURNS FROM FRANCE
Darryl rules. Got me this write up and photos about twenty minutes after I asked. In addition to the story, can you say that the photos are courtesy of Jeff at unleaded.fr? That’d rule. Here’s the write up:
Myself, Tony Hamlin, Lil Jon, and Jay Roe all recently took a trip over to Nice, France for a 7 day roadtrip to the Pessac vibrations contest. We arrived in Nice in awe of the city; it was probably one of the most beautiful shore towns I’ve ever seen. 70-degree weather, people swimming in the ocean, incredible beaches; it was nuts and we were stoked. Anyway, the weather took a gnarly nosedive pretty much from that point on. Our guide Jeff, who runs Unleaded BMX Distribution out there, took us and some amazing French riders throughout southern France in search of stuff to ride. To our dismay, we pretty much ran from the rain all week and snuck some park sessions in between. We got to the contest on Friday, which was a scene! Lots of people, cute girls, and plenty of Tony Hamlin fans. I nearly passed out because I’m so nervous at contests, Tony killed it, Lil Jon killed it, and we all had a blast heckling, drinking, and trying to talk to the locals. In the end Tony and Lil Jon walked away with a couple euros in their pockets, I actually managed to get a run in, and we all had a rad experience in France. Cheers to Jeff and everyone at Unleaded, Bruno, Alexi, Alex, and the Scot boys from BSD. Traveling is the best drug in the world.

its been awhile old friend, im still working for family, still riding, you have acheived alot with ridin i see you doing big things now, good luck with all your travels, we got to get together and ride, ill defentily check out that bowl off 73. this summer. M.E.
