Last Sunday May 20, there was a cold and rainy day in the city of Saint-Petersburg. But not in Knaf Skate Park. It was really hot under its roof, all because of the 3rd annual Osiris Skate Challenge. Last year the event took place in Moscow, at Adrenalin Skate Park, because there was no decent skate park in St.Petes. Things have changed since then. Now there is a park, and it is fit to host events like this one.
The participants of the event: the best local riders, their supporters – all highly sophisticated spectators. Prize money – $2,000. We also made it fee free day, so the event and park entrance were free. Our special guests were the Russian Glum Team. The guys are at their best now, and they have just released a new video.
The number of registered participants: 47, from which 35 were amateurs and 12 – professionals. The amateurs competed first, and it was time to shed the first blood. The very first innocent victim of skateboarders was … cameraman of STO TV channel. He had his finger almost cut off by an accidentally bounced back skateboard. The guy was immediately taken to the hospital and despite the casualties the show went on.
Than came the Glum team with their literally sparkling performance. This time they we shooting at each other with fireworks skyrockets. They made a lot of true hits. After this the best shot was awarded with a special treat – his comrades put a skyrocket into his ass and fired it from there.
What a firework!
Once this historical shot was fire, it came the turn for our professionals to show off and to teach the amateur a lesson. From beginning to end, there was nothing but a loud roar that filled the park. By that time the park was already filled to the capacity. I have to admit that our riders have shown much progress lately compared to the previous year. It’s good to see positive changes: in the variety of tricks and advancing level of skateboarding techniques.

After a thoughtful consideration the judges have chosen the best riders and awarded prizes:
Amateurs: 1st place-$250; 2nd – $150; 3rd – $100.
Professionals:1st place-$600; 2nd – $400; 3rd – $200.
All the pauses between the parts of the contest were filled with Glum team action performances.
Their appearance was not limited to fireworks-skyrockets-from-the-ass show. Their next appearance was butt-naked. They were cruising around on skateboards (their clothing was limited to a couple of Osiris stickers), giving out Osiris promo.
A team of body art models also made a special appearance. They were invited to warm up our riders and their supporters. They did so well that even the security (tough men in black) got so warm that we had to treat them to a couple free biers afterwards to cool them down a bitJ. The girls gave their attention and warm hugs to the winners of the contest, which was 100% deserved, just reward.
After the Awards Ceremony the older generation of riders and visitors proceeded to the bar and lounge area. Excitement and anticipation were in the air. The drinks were flowing. The Russian Vodka and Whiskey did their job, connecting people. It was early morning already when guests were heading homes.
