10.23.07 DEW TOUR ORLANDO AND JEREMY LUSK
The final round of the AST Dew Tour went down over the weekend in Orlando. Coming from sunny and comfortable Southern California to the 100% humidity and 90 degree heat of Central Florida makes me appreciate living where I do. Well, that is until the whole state of California lights on fire! Now hurricanes and unbearable humidity start sounding not so bad!
Anyways, it was hot and moist in Florida, nightmare conditions for anyone out of shape and overweight. Good thing Osiris’ Jeremy Lusk is on his game, in shape and kicking ass! Lusk placed a solid 4th in the FMX finals, just a nut hair of a point behind his Metal Mulisha teammate, Todd Potter, in 3rd.
That fraction of a point might not sound like a big deal, but let’s break this down: Lusk finished the overall Dew Tour points in 4th place, just 1 point out of third place. If he would have made up that fraction of a point on Potter in the finals, and got 3rd place in Orlando, he would have easily got 3rd place overall for the season. The thing that sucks most–and we really hate to rub it in, but we have to–is that some serious bonus money relies upon a 3rd place overall finish at Dew… it came down to fractions of a point for thousands of dollars! Sorry, buddy. Next year it’s on… until then, get Fluffer to bust out the Osiris card and buy drinks for us!
