7.4.07 NSSA NATIONALS
There was plenty of activity on the sand at Lowers to make up for the long lulls in the lineup. For five days every summer the NSSA Nationals invade SoCal’s most rippable A-frame. This premier event brings the top kids from the East Coast, Hawaii, and California as well as all the sideshow antics that accompany them. Pranks like zip-tie the door while your buddy is in the Port-O-Potty and games such as Trestles Hold ‘em, whiffle ball and foosball go side by side with every grom’s dream - an NSSA title. Add in smoking barbeques, snow cones, energy drinks, as well as a sideline of parents that rivals any state soccer final and you have this bizarre circus of top-shelf amateur surfing.
