PLG is currently in China for a few weeks checking out the world’s largest skatepark and get a feel for the gigantic transitions. He is traveling with fellow pros, Rune Glifburg, Bob Burnquist, Jake Brown and Michael Burnett from Thrasher Magazine. Check back frequently for updates and photos as the trip progresses. Here are some photos from his first day, adjusting to jet lag on a rainy day and getting some shopping done. Look for additional photos from their trip in an upcoming Thrasher.

Garrett McNamara added another Billabong XXL Award to his long list of achievements by winning the Monster Paddle In Award. Already a former Surfline Overall Performance recipient, McNamara abandoned the use of a Personal Water Craft (PWC) to drop into a giant wave at Mavericks, Half Moon Bay California and earn nomination for the category.
