Go Skateboarding Day went down yesterday. Osiris, Adio, Elwood, Theeve, World Industries, Stereo, Surfride, Asylum, Chipotle, Vitamin Water and Pop Chips all made it possible. It was a great day. Kids got free stuff from all of the brands, their bellies full from the Chipotle, and Vitamin Water helped them wash down the Pop Chips and helped them stay hydrated all day long. Best trick contests went down on the hubbas, rail, tranny section and the drop, and after all that it was time to get your high ollie on. Thanks to everyone who helped out and made the event possible, especially Dan Santovin. When you have some money and want to spend it, make sure you support the brands that support you, and remember everyday is Go Skateboarding Day.
The 3rd stop of the Journeys BBQ took place this pass week in my favorite city of all time, Cleveland OH. In typical Cleveland fashion, the weather sucked with intermittent rain showers throughout the day, but that didn't stop the kids from coming, Wes Agee and Derek Garland from riding, or from us giving out a boat load of product at the Osiris tent. This year, we mixed things up a bit and left the "Wheel of Misfortune" back in Sand Diego and went "Minute to Win It" style. The games are tough, but when or loose you get a prize and you get to try out one of the games you see on TV, so the kids were psyched and a few even won the challenges earning them the best prize we had, a free pair of shoes. Wes Agee and Derek Garland killed the demo. Wes' whips are nothing to scoff at. Those things were prettier than the girls in the Victoria Secrets catalog, and these guys were riding in the rain. It was crazy. Next stop in Boston this weekend where not only the Osiris fmx guys will be riding, but the Osiris skate and bmx team will also be on hand for the demos and autograph signings. Hope to see you there.
