10.7.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH RYAN BOBLITS

    1. What’s your full name and where do you reside?
Ryan Raymond Boblits, I currently reside in Red Lion, PA but I was
born and lived in Baltimore for 21 years. So I still claim Baltimore!

    2. Who is keeping you skating?
Hoodlum Skateboards, Vu Skateboard Shop, and Osiris. They all support me hard.

    3. What’s it like living on the East Coast? Pros and cons?
The East is crazy. I love it here!
Pros: It’s home, spots aren’t super blown out or school yards, the
    seasons, Maryland crabs.
Cons: Only about 6-8 months of decent weather, spots are rough/barely
    skate able.

    4. I know you just had a baby girl, how has life changed?
Yeah man, Abigail, she is the sickest! I went from basically being able to skate any day I wanted to only 2 days a week and the weekends, cause I have to get her from daycare. I’m sure a lot of people would be bummed having skate time cut in half but it’s helped me more then anything. When I could skate everyday I hardly got anything done cause I would just say things like “I can just come back tomorrow” or I would go to spots and just do nothing just sit around and hang out. Now that I have a schedule I work harder for my tricks and make better use of the time I can do it.

    5. Are you currently working on any video projects, interviews, etc?
I have a few things going on right now. Hoodlum is working on our first full length video, no hard deadline yet but it should be amazing we have a good group of dudes on the team. We’re doing a shop video due out in 2012 with a Mayan calender theme, we have a huge shop team with all terrains covered so this should be a good one also. I have some Hoodlum trips this winter. And in January I’ll be heading out to the Bay Area again, we’re trying to make it a yearly thing to escape the harsh winter in the East for a week or so. So maybe one of those trips could create some kind of other coverage. Who knows?

    6. What or who influences you to skate now a days?
This is a good one. For like the first 2-3 years I skated I didn’t really look at mags or watch videos. I just skated cause my friends did, then once I found out mags and video existed I got some influences. One of the first videos I had seen was Sight Unseen and got super hyped on Kirchart and Cardiel. Nate Jones in Reel To Real was another early influence. Some other influences are just being outside pushing around. Sometimes I’ll just go and skate and not even call a filmer or anything, and just have blast without any of the stress that comes with filming. It takes me back to when I started and
none of that stuff mattered keeps it refreshing.

    7. If you could go on an Osiris trip who do you think would be your favorite team rider to chill with?
A few of the team dudes came through York, PA on a little East Coast tour and I met up with them and showed them around. They were all tight, Paul Sewell and I clicked pretty well. Shuriken and Taylor were awesome. Everyone was cool I think I would just chill with everyone.

    8. What’s the one trick that gives you a letter in a game of S.K.A.T.E. every time?
Almost every trick. I’m not very good at doing tricks on command. But if I had to pick the one I hat the most it would have to be switch pop shuv-it. I hate that one, it always ends in a shinner.

    9. What’s your favorite Osiris shoe to skate and why?
I have always been a fan of the Chino Low, just repetition that’s what I have been getting mostly since I started getting shoes I just got so used to them I didn’t want to ask for anything else and not like them. I also liked the first Caswell shoe and the Decay is a good one too.

    10. You have a bunch of tattoo’s, any meaning behind them?
Just one of them. I understand that a lot of people get tattoo’s with meanings behind them. I have the Leo and a Virgo zodiac signs put in one symbol, for my wife and I. The rest of them I just thought they
were awesome and went and got them. I need some money cause I have a bunch more ideas for tattoo’s I want to get that I’ll probably regret one day, but whatever.

    11. It’s your time to shine . Any comments, last words or shout outs?
Thanks to everyone that has and continues to support me. My wife sacrifices a lot so that I can skate as much as possible, I owe her big time, Abigail for making me grow up. Thanks to William at Osiris,
Gary at Vu, John at Hoodlum, Toebee Parkhurst, Stuck, Brad Burt, Ellis, Pop, My Family, all the homies I skate with on the regular, anyone that’s ever helped me, I appreciate it.

My name is Frankie Heck and I’m currently living in Hurst, Texas.

    2. When did you start skateboarding and how did you get in to it?

I’m riding for Osiris, Expedition One Skateboards and Rhythm Skate Shop.

    4. How do you like the skate scene out in Texas?
I think it’s great here. It’s just super hot and humid here during the summertime, but otherwise the people here are super cool and so are the spots.

    5. If you had to choose, ledges/gaps or stairs/rails, which would it be?
It would most definitely have to be stairs and rails.

    6. Who do you normally skate with in Texas?
I usually skate with my friends, Adrian, Michael and
    Carston.

    7. I heard you are working on a full video part right now for a local video called D.R.E.A.M. How is that coming along?
It’s coming along great, just trying to stack up as much good footage as possible for my part.

I think some time around November of this year and it’s going to be premiered during Make A Wish at Southside Skatepark in Houston, Texas.

    Arizona, California and Philly

Right now, just to progress as much as possible and to stack a whole bunch more footage for my video part.

6.21.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH STEVE MCINNES

    1. Let’s start off by asking you what your full name is and where you’re from originally.

Steve McInnes and I’m originally from Queensland, Australia, but I’ve been living in Melbourne for longer than I can remember.

    2. You work 90% of your life, the other 10% you spend either drinking or being injured. I would like to know how you still manage to keep all your tricks and seem to have new tricks every time I see you.

I’m not too sure to be honest. I guess maybe it’s got something to do with I’m skating every chance I get, and because I don’t get to skate everyday, so when I’m on my board I try to make the most of it.

    3. You’re pretty much known as the nice guy of skating in Australia. How does that make you feel?

I guess it’s pretty rad – I just treat others how I’d like to be treated. It’s a good way to live. More people should try it.

    4. You appear to be a positive guy, but if I had a penny every time I heard you say “I hate my life,” I’d be rich. Where does that come from? Too much time spent working or injured?

Yeah the amount of working I do or lately being injured does get me down a lot, but I’m just hoping that it turns around soon. Things can’t stay bad forever. Well, that’s what I’m hoping anyway!

    5. You grew up skating in Werribee. Do you think that’s had a positive effect on your skating, or negative?

Both, I’d say. I’ve seen a fair amount of sketchy shit go down living there, but at the same time it’s made me who I am today. I guess I appreciate the nicer things in life a whole lot more now.

    6. Do you miss living in a skate house or are you feeling all relaxed having moved out with your girl, Ally?

Yeah, I definitely miss the house. I don’t get invited out on as many missions now, but at the same time there’s nothing better then coming home to nice, clean, and quiet house to relax after a long day skating. Plus, my amazing girlfriend does the washing and I don’t have to worry so much about the homies drinking all my beer!

    7. How has your wine tasting been goin’? Any good reds that people out there need to know about. I remember you took your chances with ‘chances’ that time. How’d that go down?

Ohhh man, I guess it was all right. I kinda got what I paid for. After all, it was only a $4 bottle. I haven’t found anything too good but that’s probably because I never really spend over $10 on a bottle!

    8. You plan to go to the US this year. Who you gonna stay with? You meeting up with me?

I’m not 100% sure on where I’m staying yet. Still need to finalize the last little details, but I’m hoping to meet up with guys from Osiris, Theeve, and some of the Hype guys. I guess it just depends on everyone else.

    9. Other than Osiris, who else is helping you out?

Well I’m skating for Hype Skateboards, which is new but they are doing rad things at the moment with people like Barker, Holmes, and yourself on the team. I’m sure more people will know about it soon! I also just got on Theeve Trucks, which I’m stoked about as it’s probably the best company to come out of Australia. Ashbury Eyewear and Ogio Bags also help me out heaps, so thanks everyone!

    10. So, lately you’ve been looking a lot like Jesus. How did this come about?

Jesus? Hmmm. I guess its got something to do with my hair getting longer. You’re not the first person to say that, but it depends what day you catch me. I only kinda look like him when I’ve got my beard.

    11. What are your plans for the future?

Travel a lot more and hopefully bring out a full video part!

6.1.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH RYAN HARRIS

What’s your full name, and where are you originally from holmes?

Ryan Tyler Harris, and I’m from Livermore CA.

I know that you spent the last couple of years living down in San Diego. How do you like the Bay Area lifestyle compared to that of San Diego?

The bay is the shit! Its always crackin, and you don’t need a car! There are HELLA trees in the air every day. There’s no place like it. From the diversity of the people to the diversity of the spots, it’s the best! On the other hand, San Diego is tight because its just skateboardland. There are hella good ass skaters and everyone’s down, but if you don’t have a car you might not be in on the sesh. The weather is incredible and it’s a positive place to be.

I remember you use to rock the ponytail back in the old 510 vids. How is it working out nowadays without it? Does it make you feel more aerodynamic on your board or does it help out with the ladies? Give us a little insight?

I gave the p.t. a good run, but I had to get rid of that thing! And truthfully long or short hair, I still pull em.

What companies help keep you rolling on you board these days?

Osiris, Jivaro, Alphanumeri, 510 Skateshop and the homies at Kayo have been hooking up Expedition boards.

You’ve been repping the O for a bit now. How did you initially get hooked up in the beginning?

My homie Nodak came thru with rep flow then Petachuntee gave me Kong’s number. I’ve been rockin em ever since.

You’re a very versatile skater, whether its skating transition or ledges to gaps, what terrain do you feel most comfortable skating on?

    THE STREETS.

What are some of the ATV skaters that come into mind that have inspired you from the past or present?

Jon Stallings, Errol Langdon, Dave Cole, Austin Kanfoush, Sean Guiteirrez, and Cardiel of course.

For a while you were living in a windowless, bathroomless cave called the “dungeon”, in OB. Tell us a little bit how that came about, and how long did you end up living there for?

Ahhaha the dungeon was off the hook! It was just a cave with a bed and a couch! Austin Kanfoush came thru and held it down with me for a couple months too. The place was hot boxed for about a whole month straight. I was working at Panera Bread grimed out. I lived there for about 6 months. The experience was truthfully trite. Good looks to Ivery for letting me stay there.

You are really good friends with Walker Ryan. How did you guys first meet, and do you still see him around at all?

Yeah for sure… We’ve known each other since the 510 video days, so about 5 years now. We still get sessions in all of the time.

You’re having a full part in the upcoming SHUFFL video that Walker’s involved with. Tell us a little about that, and how did the concept for the video come about?

Well Walkers always been making homie videos over the years, and since I ended up in San Diego we figured we’d just keep it going. Shuffl is just some drunken claim shit so it’s weird to see it on the Internet. Its just going to be a solid video with all the homies I skate with.

Alright, I got one more question for you. If you had to choose out of the 3 nicknames you have, which one would it be?

Harry, Fakland Ass or The Ry Guy? Man, It’s Harry. No matter where I go people still call me that. You made up the other two and no one calls me them besides you. Nice try though!

3.5.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH ALEX MIZUROV

What’s your full name, and where in Germany are you from?
My full name is Alex Mizurov, and I live in a small city called Rastatt.

Who’s hooking you up these days?
Osiris, Plan B, Red Dragon, Silver, FKD, Oakley, Nixon, T-Mobile, Ogio, Titus Karlsruhe, and EMillion Griptape.

I’ve noticed that you’ve been traveling quite a bit in the last couple of years. What has been your favorite destination so far?
Barcelona, of course! I like Dubai as well. And Hawaii was really fun!

Your English is near perfect these days. How crucial is it to know English in this industry and during all of your travels?

It is really important to know English, cause wherever you go there are always people who are going to understand you! I wouldn’t say that my English is near perfect though…

I remember when you won the eS game of skate a few years back, have things changed a lot for you since then?
Yeah, that’s for sure! Way more traveling and skating…

You seem to kill it in every game of skate you enter; do you have a certain flatground spot you typically skate?

Not really. I like good ground though, so wherever I go I practice a bit.

Speaking of the eS game of skate, do you like entering all contests or are you more into the flatground ones?
Right now I feel like skating street, cause in the last couple years I’ve just been skating so many contests that it did get a little boring to me…

Who are some of the skaters and videos that influenced you growing up?
It is and will always be Paul Rodriguez, but I really like to watch Deawon Song skating, too.

Now that you have been to the states a hand full of times, do you think it’s harder to film and shoot photos in the US or back home?

That’s a hard one! For me it is harder at home, I guess. Even if you get busted in the states more often than in Germany… If you go to a place like Barcelona of course there is always someone who is shooting or filming, but in Germany we don’t have as many filmers and the spots are not as good.

Everyone is anticipating the release of the new Plan B video. How is the filming for that coming along?
I have a couple clips for it so far and I’m still working on a few tricks.

Alright last question. If you were in the finals in a game of S.K.A.T.E. with P-Rod and Chris Cole for a million dollars, and it was down to the last letter, what trick do you think you would try?
    Fakie bigspin hardflip I guess.
