6.21.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH STEVE MCINNES

    1. Let’s start off by asking you what your full name is and where you’re from originally.

Steve McInnes and I’m originally from Queensland, Australia, but I’ve been living in Melbourne for longer than I can remember.

    2. You work 90% of your life, the other 10% you spend either drinking or being injured. I would like to know how you still manage to keep all your tricks and seem to have new tricks every time I see you.

I’m not too sure to be honest. I guess maybe it’s got something to do with I’m skating every chance I get, and because I don’t get to skate everyday, so when I’m on my board I try to make the most of it.

    3. You’re pretty much known as the nice guy of skating in Australia. How does that make you feel?

I guess it’s pretty rad – I just treat others how I’d like to be treated. It’s a good way to live. More people should try it.

    4. You appear to be a positive guy, but if I had a penny every time I heard you say “I hate my life,” I’d be rich. Where does that come from? Too much time spent working or injured?

Yeah the amount of working I do or lately being injured does get me down a lot, but I’m just hoping that it turns around soon. Things can’t stay bad forever. Well, that’s what I’m hoping anyway!

    5. You grew up skating in Werribee. Do you think that’s had a positive effect on your skating, or negative?

Both, I’d say. I’ve seen a fair amount of sketchy shit go down living there, but at the same time it’s made me who I am today. I guess I appreciate the nicer things in life a whole lot more now.

    6. Do you miss living in a skate house or are you feeling all relaxed having moved out with your girl, Ally?

Yeah, I definitely miss the house. I don’t get invited out on as many missions now, but at the same time there’s nothing better then coming home to nice, clean, and quiet house to relax after a long day skating. Plus, my amazing girlfriend does the washing and I don’t have to worry so much about the homies drinking all my beer!

    7. How has your wine tasting been goin’? Any good reds that people out there need to know about. I remember you took your chances with ‘chances’ that time. How’d that go down?

Ohhh man, I guess it was all right. I kinda got what I paid for. After all, it was only a $4 bottle. I haven’t found anything too good but that’s probably because I never really spend over $10 on a bottle!

    8. You plan to go to the US this year. Who you gonna stay with? You meeting up with me?

I’m not 100% sure on where I’m staying yet. Still need to finalize the last little details, but I’m hoping to meet up with guys from Osiris, Theeve, and some of the Hype guys. I guess it just depends on everyone else.

    9. Other than Osiris, who else is helping you out?

Well I’m skating for Hype Skateboards, which is new but they are doing rad things at the moment with people like Barker, Holmes, and yourself on the team. I’m sure more people will know about it soon! I also just got on Theeve Trucks, which I’m stoked about as it’s probably the best company to come out of Australia. Ashbury Eyewear and Ogio Bags also help me out heaps, so thanks everyone!

    10. So, lately you’ve been looking a lot like Jesus. How did this come about?

Jesus? Hmmm. I guess its got something to do with my hair getting longer. You’re not the first person to say that, but it depends what day you catch me. I only kinda look like him when I’ve got my beard.

    11. What are your plans for the future?

Travel a lot more and hopefully bring out a full video part!

3.5.10 11 QUESTIONS WITH ALEX MIZUROV

What’s your full name, and where in Germany are you from?
My full name is Alex Mizurov, and I live in a small city called Rastatt.

Who’s hooking you up these days?
Osiris, Plan B, Red Dragon, Silver, FKD, Oakley, Nixon, T-Mobile, Ogio, Titus Karlsruhe, and EMillion Griptape.

I’ve noticed that you’ve been traveling quite a bit in the last couple of years. What has been your favorite destination so far?
Barcelona, of course! I like Dubai as well. And Hawaii was really fun!

Your English is near perfect these days. How crucial is it to know English in this industry and during all of your travels?

It is really important to know English, cause wherever you go there are always people who are going to understand you! I wouldn’t say that my English is near perfect though…

I remember when you won the eS game of skate a few years back, have things changed a lot for you since then?
Yeah, that’s for sure! Way more traveling and skating…

You seem to kill it in every game of skate you enter; do you have a certain flatground spot you typically skate?

Not really. I like good ground though, so wherever I go I practice a bit.

Speaking of the eS game of skate, do you like entering all contests or are you more into the flatground ones?
Right now I feel like skating street, cause in the last couple years I’ve just been skating so many contests that it did get a little boring to me…

Who are some of the skaters and videos that influenced you growing up?
It is and will always be Paul Rodriguez, but I really like to watch Deawon Song skating, too.

Now that you have been to the states a hand full of times, do you think it’s harder to film and shoot photos in the US or back home?

That’s a hard one! For me it is harder at home, I guess. Even if you get busted in the states more often than in Germany… If you go to a place like Barcelona of course there is always someone who is shooting or filming, but in Germany we don’t have as many filmers and the spots are not as good.

Everyone is anticipating the release of the new Plan B video. How is the filming for that coming along?
I have a couple clips for it so far and I’m still working on a few tricks.

Alright last question. If you were in the finals in a game of S.K.A.T.E. with P-Rod and Chris Cole for a million dollars, and it was down to the last letter, what trick do you think you would try?
    Fakie bigspin hardflip I guess.
