This past weekend the Metal Mulisha took over at the NASCAR auto club 500, which was held at the California speedway. Osiris team riders OX and Ryan Hagy rode Friday through Sunday and performed 4 shows a day. The turnout was great do to NASCAR attracting over 100,000 people, and the California speedway was so pumped with the performance that they asked them to perform for every upcoming event held at the stadium.

A few years back my friend Brad and I had an idea. I would move back to Ohio, and he and I would start a skate shop just outside of Cleveland. The shop was going to be called Joy/Pain, but before any concrete plans were made, life got in the way. For reasons I can’t remember, I never moved to back to Ohio, and Brad decided to focus on his family and open up a pizza shop. That was years ago, and since then many things have changed, but one thing that never changed was Brad’s dream of opening a skate shop. Late last year Brad opened up a shop with the support of his wife, and Fable Skateboards was born. Located in historic Oberlin, Ohio, Oberlin is the home of many stops of the Underground Railroad, one of the nations leading liberal arts colleges, and now Fable Skateboards.
Any meaning behind the name Fable? By definition fable means a story that teaches a lesson, and we feel that has a lot to do with skateboarding.
Is the little drawing on your shop tees and boards supposed to look like the pirate version of Humpty Dumpty? No, I guess we just got lucky. We hope in the future to incorporate other artists to do their rendition of the pirate along with doing a few of their own designs for t-shirts.
Is it true you offered a free pizza with the purchase of a deck? Yes, this year we started a program with East of Chicago Pizza where anyone who buys a board receives a free medium pizza.
Fable Skateboards carries: Osiris, Adio, Dvs, I-path, Lakai, Supra, Alien Workshop/Habitat, Blueprint, Bueno, Consolidated, Element, Traffic, Zero/Mystery, Darkroom, Krew, Planet Earth, The Quiet Life, and Nixon

This past weekend Ox, Hagy, Homan, and a kid they call “The Boy†were up in Redmond, Oregon partaking in the 4th annual MX challenge. The event was a great success, even though they all were riding on Coke, Coke-a-Cola that is. Coke syrup was poured onto the floor, so that when the syrup dried there would be a bit of traction. Who knew there would be so many uses for Coke. Is Coke the new Duct tape? The drive home lasted more than 18 hours, and 5 of those were in a blizzard, but everyone made it home safely and are ready for their next adventure.
