This was from a trip in Denver, I was filming for the upcoming foundation video Cataclysmic Abyss. Nuge, Gareth Stehr, filmer donkey punch Jeff and I flew out to Texas for a demo. We were on our way to the airport after the demo and we thought "fuck it why fly home". I rented a car and for the next two weeks we skated everyday. Funny story, the rental car company put us in a a candy apple red PT Cruiser, and I was the only one with a credit card so I picked up the bill. We drove from Houston to Oklahoma City then Okc to Denver, this photo is from Denver. I can't remember exactly I was doing, but I think I was bombing a hill or got wheel bite in a ditch. Skateboarding is all about going out and having fun with your homies, this was the best trip I've ever been on. Four really close friends on a personal budget, driving the worst car ever, and getting as much skating in as possible. So many good tricks came from this trip, almost half my part was filmed during these two weeks. I fell in love with Denver after this trip, a great city for skating.
This was from a twenty questions interview I had in Tws, I think it was 2002. I thought it would be a funny idea to be laying in a pile of junk food and cokes, like Scrooge mcduck without the gold. This was my daily diet for a long time, I was a junk food junkie. I was just a teenage snotty kid that liked sweets, punk rock, and skateboarding. I don't eat much candy anymore and I don't drink soda, but I miss coca cola a whole lot. Coke was the only beverage of choice for me and I still have a lot of coke memorabilia throughout my house. All I can say is Pepsi, what a fucking joke! This photo was taken at tumyeto and the best part was I got to keep all the goodies. Remember zours!? They were amazing.
I really don't think the photo of footage do this spot justice, it is the type of spot you have to see in person to understand the difficulty behind it. I went here with Cairo Foster before but wasn't in the mood for skating, it was a cold winter in Frisco and I wasn't ready to slam down a hill. I came back a few weeks later to toy around with the idea of skating it. The ground sucks, there's a metal grate before you pop, a big crack, you have to push through a busy intersection, and you have to deal with a lot of yuppies walking by and land into a steep hill. It's on the top of Vallejo street I think, it was one of the hardest tricks I've done, and it didn't take many tries but to commit to it was the hard part. I rolled my ankle pretty bad and ate shit on the hill a few times, I ended up doing the nose blunt twice. Brook shot the photo, it was in my Thrasher interview, I don't think the spot is skate able anymore but it's still there.
This is in Oklahoma City, The Nuge took me to this ditch a few months earlier on the PT loser tour. I didn't see this spot in the ditch the first time, I was bored and started exploring the ditch. I saw this and thought holy shit this might be possible, I had to shovel out dirt from the landing for about two hours. I told the guys I was with I found a spot, I showed them and they were like "what the fuck", "are you serious". The bank is really steep and I remember no one else could run up it. I was on a Route 66 trip with Chet Childress, Jason Adams, rhino, charno, buddy Coan, Emanuel Guzman, Mumford, Dan Pensyl, Pstone, and maybe another. When your skating with so many heavy hitters you can't be a pussy, and I said I'd do it so I couldn't bitch out. I was scared shitless, it took a lot if tries to finally land it and roll down the bank, everything about it was terrifying to me. It was a really awesome trip, I drove to Graceland in a caddy with some of my favourite skaters, definitely one of the best trips I've been on.
This is from somewhere in Europe, I think it might have been in London but I can't remember exactly. It was the start of the tour and I hit my elbow good and it swelled up like this. Me being a dumbass, I poked the hematoma with a sewing needle over a dozen times and clear liquid was shooting out of it. The following day I woke up and had a bad infection and I ended up catching a Mrsa staph infection and had to travel through Europe for two more weeks feeling like utter hell. Lesson learned, don't pop hematomas with dirty needles. When I got home I was put on heavy antibiotics at the hospital.
