Australian Bowlriding Championships
Hurley Australian Bowlriding Championships
Feb. 9th- New Castle, NSW
Hurley ABC - Australian Bowl-riding Championships is the first bowl contest of the year on the WCS schedule. This is where the Australians can get a Wild Card into the Van's Bowl-a-rama Bondi, it's the last comp of the 3 week trip and the big show so to speak! This comp also allows international skaters to compete as well. Great preparation for the next couple of weeks ahead.
Not all of the OCC came early to this event but representation was there nonetheless! Alex Sorgente, Nolan Munroe, Charlie Blair, Lester Kasai, and Sergie Ventura! All making the finals in both divisions. The competition was stiff but with their skillset, it wasn't hard for them to rank high in the overall rankings of the comp.
A Big congrats to Alex Sorgente WINNING the Pro division and Lester Kasai making the podium placing 3rd in the Master's division. Sergie Ventura, was knocked out after his 3rd run in the finals but was able to regroup during his last two runs to snag 4th place. It was a beautiful weekend right next to the beach with tons of sun and most of the OCC have never been to this bowl. Very similar to the Dew tour bowl, it was super easy for the boys to adapt to the new terrain, hence, the results below.
