Ryan Nyquist Wins Red Bull Skylines!
Ryan Nyquist just sealed the deal - he undoubtedly had the best the best 2012 contest season in all of BMX.
Around a week after winning the San Francisco Dew Tour, Ryan jetted off to Paris, France to compete in the last big event of the year - Red Bull Skylines. Red Bull teamed up with world-renown ramp builder Nate Wessel to build an insane course inside the Grand Palais.
Twenty-four of the best riders in the world were invited to compete in the event and it was utter madness. The ramps were HUGE and everyone threw down.
Ryan killed it through qualifying and finals with moves like suicide no handed backflips, opposite double truckdrivers, no footed can can barspins, and even ended his final run with a move he invented but hadn't done in years - the powerball (cannonball double barspin).
The first award announced was for best trick and Ryan unsurprisingly took the win for landing the powerball perfectly.
Next, they announced the contest placings. Daniel Dhers placed third, Dennis Enarson placed second, and Ryan Nyquist earned himself yet another huge win with a first place finish.
Between his second place finish at Red Bull Empire of Dirt, second place finish at X-Games, fifth place finish at the Ocean City Dew Tour, third place finish at Texas Toast, first place finish at the San Francisco Dew Tour, and now this first place finish at Red Bull Skylines, this has been an incredibly successful year for Ryan Nyquist.
