Ryan Hagy set up the OX Super Lite truck in the pits of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, at Firebird Raceway, located in Chandler Arizona. Hagy was ready to battle along side Metal Mulisha's Larry Linkogle, who was giving this short course racing a shot for his first time ever. With near perfect weather and a packed house of Arizona fans it was time to kick things into gear!
Saturday Highlights:Super Lite - Ryan Hagy got to the head of the pack early Creed got around Hagy on the restart lap, with Britt also moving up to pass Briley for third. Larry Linkogle was getting his taste of dirt in his first LOORRS race ever. Larry held it together with the pack, made a few passes and fell short after some mechanical issues after slamming up into the wall. A full course caution was then brought out when Wyatt Kirchner hit the catch fence coming onto the front straight, an incident which ended his race for the day (Kirchner himself was ok). When racing resumed, Creed got around Hagy on the restart lap, with Britt also moving up to pass Briley for third. Hagy shoved his way past the pack hunting down Briley for the finish and a spot on the podium taking third! Congrats Hagy!
Closing out this weekend's events was the Super Lite race, Hagy charged toward the green flag kicking off round 2 with some style! While taking the lead and shaking off the other drivers, Hagy was looking like another promising finish up on the podium. On lap two with a good run through turn three, the Ox truck came to a unfortunate stop, coasting off the track, suffering mechanical issues. Next up on the calendar are Rounds 3 and 4, coming to you from the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. With this year's new, more compact season schedule, we've got our races closer together than ever, so there's only three weeks between now and So Cal, so get ready to join us again soon, April 21st and 22nd, when the series returns to Lake Elsinore, CA for the first time since 2009.
