I'm a little late on a sea otter report but things have been pretty hectic this week. We've been shooting with the Anthill crew (the guys that made Follow Me, Roam, etc.) in town for their next video. We're filming a segment about the history of the Post Office jumps and it's been going pretty well. The video is set to premiere at Sea Otter next year and I can't wait to see it.
Anyways, Sea Otter was a blast as always and I'm glad that I got to make it for my 12th consecutive year in a row. I raced Slalom and Speed and Style and I played around a bit in the Jump Jam. My schedule overlapped quite a bit so it was hard to sneak practice in for all of the events. Slalom was pretty fun and I qualified 19th which I was pretty amped on. I got pegged against Cody Warren in the first round and he took me down. Next was Speed and Style which I qualified 5th in. I got to do the course run-through for Pinkbike the day before the finals and here's a link to that:
I ended up making it from the round of 32 down to the round of 8 where I met up with Brandon Semenuk who took me down and wound up winning the whole thing. Doing Slalom and Speed and Style in the same day was definitely a lot to take on my plate but it was definitely fun. I've attached some pics from Dual Slalom along with some pics that I found from our post office jump jam the day after Sea Otter...
Talk to you all soon!
