9.2.10 HEADING TO WOODWARD WEST WITH SHURIKEN
Every so often a professional skateboarder gets the opportunity to give back. If you know anything about Shuriken and his life story, you know that there was once a time he didn’t have it so good. Each year Woodward skatecamp receives thousands of applications for their sponsorship program. Not everyone can afford heading off to skatecamp for a week, so for some kids this is their only hope. During Shuriken’s last visit to Woodward he decided that he would personally send two of these kids to camp. He reviewed the applications and found two kids whose stories he could relate to in one way or another and shelled out the dough to send them to camp. Austin Sullivan and Kyler Brandt were the lucky kids. Unfortunately the week Austin went to camp Shuriken couldn’t make a guest appearance, but he was able to show up during the week Kyler attended. Below you will find some photos from the day as well as a little video. If you are interested in attending Woodward or applying for their scholarship program be sure to check out the Woodward website.
