11 Questions With Ryan Harris

What’s your full name, and where are you originally from holmes?
Ryan Tyler Harris, and I’m from Livermore CA.
I know that you spent the last couple of years living down in San Diego. How do you like the Bay Area lifestyle compared to that of San Diego? The bay is the shit! Its always crackin, and you don’t need a car! There are HELLA trees in the air every day. There’s no place like it. From the diversity of the people to the diversity of the spots, it’s the best! On the other hand, San Diego is tight because its just skateboardland. There are hella good ass skaters and everyone’s down, but if you don’t have a car you might not be in on the sesh. The weather is incredible and it’s a positive place to be.
I remember you use to rock the ponytail back in the old 510 vids. How is it working out nowadays without it? Does it make you feel more aerodynamic on your board or does it help out with the ladies? Give us a little insight?
I gave the p.t. a good run, but I had to get rid of that thing! And truthfully long or short hair, I still pull em.
What companies help keep you rolling on you board these days?
Osiris, Jivaro, Alphanumeri, 510 Skateshop and the homies at Kayo have been hooking up Expedition boards. You’ve been repping the O for a bit now. How did you initially get hooked up in the beginning?
My homie Nodak came thru with rep flow then Petachuntee gave me Kong’s number. I’ve been rockin em ever since.
You’re a very versatile skater, whether its skating transition or ledges to gaps, what terrain do you feel most comfortable skating on?
THE STREETS.
What are some of the ATV skaters that come into mind that have inspired you from the past or present?
Jon Stallings, Errol Langdon, Dave Cole, Austin Kanfoush, Sean Guiteirrez, and Cardiel of course.
For a while you were living in a windowless, bathroomless cave called the “dungeon”, in OB. Tell us a little bit how that came about, and how long did you end up living there for?
Ahhaha the dungeon was off the hook! It was just a cave with a bed and a couch! Austin Kanfoush came thru and held it down with me for a couple months too. The place was hot boxed for about a whole month straight. I was working at Panera Bread grimed out. I lived there for about 6 months. The experience was truthfully trite. Good looks to Ivery for letting me stay there.
You are really good friends with Walker Ryan. How did you guys first meet, and do you still see him around at all?
Yeah for sure… We’ve known each other since the 510 video days, so about 5 years now. We still get sessions in all of the time.
You’re having a full part in the upcoming SHUFFL video that Walker’s involved with. Tell us a little about that, and how did the concept for the video come about?
Well Walkers always been making homie videos over the years, and since I ended up in San Diego we figured we’d just keep it going. Shuffl is just some drunken claim shit so it’s weird to see it on the Internet. Its just going to be a solid video with all the homies I skate with.
Alright, I got one more question for you. If you had to choose out of the 3 nicknames you have, which one would it be?
Harry, Fakland Ass or The Ry Guy? Man, It’s Harry. No matter where I go people still call me that. You made up the other two and no one calls me them besides you. Nice try though!
